A vigorous species reaching up to 4m (1m of annual growth) on a suitable support. Evergreen leaves turn purple in autumn and winter. Flowers small, white, changing to yellow with age.
Succeeds in moderate soils and in partial shade. It may freeze during severe winters.
An excellent climber for covering large spaces, tall fences and tree stumps. Makes good ground cover.
