A long and profusely flowering variety, reaching 3-4 m (1-2 m of annual growth) on a suitable support. Tubular, brilliant orange, splashed with yellow at the centre flowers, abundantly borne in whorls at the ends of shoots from June to September, followed by decorative, orange-purple berries, August-October. Stems twine clockwise around the supports. Succeeds in moderately fertile soils on condition that they are not too acid or dry. Suitable for growing over arbors, fences, gates, trellises or other supports. Particularly useful for gardens and parks. It blooms mainly on the young growths. In March-April prune back all stems that are dead, superfluously tangled or suppressing the growth of other plants. Cut off long stems above the second, third pair of buds. Every 5-6 years carry out renewal pruning.
