Conspicuous, intense red flowers with a white shading along the veins and a white center. Blooms of about 7 cm in diameter comprise 4 sepals and a tuft of green filaments bearing crimson anthers. Free-flowering in June to September. It can grow up to 3 m. Suitable for growing over trellises, fences, poles and various garden supports. It can climb into deciduous and coniferous shrubs. Particularly attractive against a fair background.
