A vigorous climber with attractive foliage and flowers. Leaves semi-evergreen, composed of 5 leathery, notched leaflets. Stems, violet at first and turning brown with age, twine around the supports. Flowers small, female chocolate-brown and male pink, slightly cinnamon scented. Unusual, conspicuous, sausage-shaped fruits. It’s suitable for training over various kinds of supports, as well as for clambering into a tree. An excellent subject for covering arbors and pergolas. It may be used as ground cover.
