A lovely climber reaching up to 10 m (1-3 m of annual growth), long and profusely flowering. A striking floral display: light violet, with a white spot at the base, flowers are borne in long racemes during May. Starts blooming the third, forth season after planting. The stems twine in a clockwise direction. Leaves pinnate, green, turning yellow in autumn. Best grown in sheltered, warm and sunny positions, in moderately fertile and moist soils. Requires a strong support. A well proven variety though it may freeze during severe winters. Particularly useful for growing over a wall.
