A valuable cultivar of regular growth with dark, glossy evergreen leaves and light violet-blue flowers blooming just above them. Both leaves and flowers are larger than the average in the species. Free-flowering in April, continues less abundantly throughout summer. The cultivar is regarded more disease resistant than other periwinkles. Thrives in fertile, humified soil and after it takes roots it tolerates temporary draughts. Recommended particularly for shaded and semi-shaded sites but it does well also in full sun. Frost hardy (zone 5). An excellent ground cover, especially for small spaces as it is less expansive than the average. Suitable for municipal areas.
